The Hebrew word is “tsâra’ath” which is translated “leprosy” 35 times from
Leviticus to 2 Chronicles. It is
only translated as leprosy and nothing else.
The root word that it comes from is “tsâra‘” which means “to be stricken
with leprosy, leper, or leprous.”
